A well-written cover letter and vitae are the first means by which campuses get to know you as a potential faculty member or administrator. They are the primary opportunities you have to get noticed and be invited for an interview. With this service, I work with you to personalize your cover letter and vitae to the positions and institutions to which you are applying. You will learn how to write a cover letter and vitae that highlight your strengths in context of the criteria specific to individual job postings and campuses. From your first job as an assistant professor, to academic administration, I will show you effective techniques to get your cover letter and vitae noticed in ways that increase your chances of being offered an interview.

Interview Preparation

Once you learn to write an effective cover letter and vitae, chances are, requests for interviews will increase. Academic interviews are typically a multi-step process, beginning with a phone or Skype interview and progressing to airport and on-campus visits. On-campus interviews are generally full to multi-day opportunities for both you, and the institution, to assess the potential for a professional partnership. I can help you learn effective techniques for interviewing in multiple settings to maximize your chances of being offered the position you are seeking. Working with you to anticipate likely interview questions specific to the campuses and positions to which you are applying, I provide opportunities for you to practice your responses before your actual interviews. Following your individualized practice sessions, I offer feedback on the content of your responses as well as your nonverbal communication presence. This verbal and nonverbal instruction is designed to help you solidify and polish your interviewing techniques and answers. This service is tailored to your individual needs, as I work with you to ensure that you are prepared for each type of interview you encounter.
